A Greek couple based in Marseille acquired this home as their personal retreat during visits to Athens. The goal was to create a contemporary and functional living space welcoming, calm, and subtly enriched with art and crafted detail. The design relied on natural materials and clean transitions. Oak wood flooring adds warmth, while sliding partitions with metal frames, some with glass, others combining fabric and glass, offer a sense of privacy while letting natural light travel deep into the space. A key architectural moment unfolds in the kitchen. Though small and limited to a single window, it was designed as a separate room, not part of the open plan, in line with the client’s wish. The wall facing the living area is a custom-built bookshelf, seamlessly incorporating a glass-panelled door that allows light to flow in while maintaining spatial clarity and privacy. The overall atmosphere is quiet and personal, with art thoughtfully placed throughout, forming a home of elegant restraint and emotional warmth.
