Residence

Kolonaki

In a 1960s neoclassical building in central Kolonaki, this residence was completely renovated to accommodate a couple and their child. The brief called for a functional, bright and welcoming home with ample storage space and an atmosphere of understated elegance. The original solid oak flooring was retained and restored, giving the space a sense of timeless warmth. Marble surfaces and oversized tiles in the bathrooms introduced a sophisticated quality, while details drawn from the traditional architecture of Athenian apartments subtly informed the new design. A key feature is the central column in the living room – once a structural constraint, now a focal point. This inspired the creation of a dedicated home office zone, carefully integrated into the flow of the space. Antique furniture with a personal history was restored and reintroduced, enriching the interiors with depth and emotional resonance. The result is a serene, luminous home – a gentle dialogue between memory and modernity, settling quietly in the heart of the city.
